Hi, I’m Nathan! I hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a master’s in sport psychology, and a master’s in marriage and family therapy. I have over 18 years of experience working in behavioral health, wellness and health coaching, and sport and performance psychology, supporting individuals across the lifespan—from adolescents to older adults. My background also includes work as a certified personal trainer and martial arts instructor, which continues to inform my understanding of the mind–body connection, resilience, and sustainable change.
I am drawn to therapy because it allows people to slow down, feel understood, and reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways. I believe emotional well-being is closely tied to how we relate to ourselves, others, and the roles we carry throughout life. Therapy isn’t about fixing who you are—it’s about helping you find balance, clarity, and a path forward that feels authentic.
My approach to therapy is shaped by both professional training and personal experience, including my own journey through anxiety, depression, and loss. I understand that emotional challenges often arise during periods of transition, pressure, injury, grief, or shifts in identity, and how meaningful it can be to have a steady, supportive space during those times.
I approach therapy as a warm, collaborative, and person-centered process. I believe therapy works best as a partnership—you bring deep knowledge of your own life and experiences, and my role is to offer support, insight, and practical tools as we work together toward your goals. I strive to create a space where you can speak openly, feel heard, and explore difficult topics with curiosity, respect, and without judgment.
My work is strengths-based and tailored to each individual. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness-informed practices, and psychodynamic perspectives. Together, we focus on building insight while also developing practical strategies that support meaningful, sustainable change aligned with your values and pace.
I support individuals navigating anxiety, depression, addiction, grief and loss, relationship challenges, self-esteem /confidence concerns, life transitions, and the emotional impact of chronic pain, injury, or illness. I have a particular interest in neuroscience-informed care, sport and performance psychology, the mind body connection, and men’s health—helping clients work with pressure, expectations, distress, anxiety, and emotional regulation both within and outside performance settings.
My goal is to help you feel more grounded, supported, and confident in navigating life’s challenges. Therapy isn’t about eliminating discomfort or striving for constant progress—it’s about building awareness, self-compassion, and tools that support balance and resilience over time.
I hope clients leave therapy with greater clarity, emotional steadiness, and a stronger sense of self-trust. Whether you’re working through a difficult season or seeking personal growth, my aim is to support you in building a life that feels more aligned, meaningful, and sustainable.
